Anyone use water type "salt shallow" for fresh water lakes and rivers?

I came across a video on youtube where a lake guide in Texas was posting their settings for fishing lakes. He said he sets up in water type salt / shallow because it gives him better separation on fish. The crew went through most of the main settings on their units that they use.

Anyone else use these settings for fresh water?

I saw that as well, I am planning on trying it next time I’m out. I got really good images with mine out of the box but feel like the more I tweak the worse they get

Do either of you have a link or name or something for the video? Bob

I have seen this and tried it as well. Only thing I seen was it seemed to have compressed the screen (side to side).

Did you leave it this way? So other than the compressed screen, you didn't notice anything better about it?

I set my Helix g2n mega up with these settings earlier but haven't been on the water yet. I couldn't find the "noise filter" setting on mine although I didn't look that hard.

Main menu Sonar tab below Frequency Label and above Max Depth. You have to set User Mode in the SETUP menu to CUSTOM to have all the menu choices.

On the Helix 10 Mega SI+ G3N, the default setting is salt shallow.
