Help! - Removed Inner Storage/Dry Box in Front Center Hatch on Pro XP

I already took it out, so wondering...Has anyone removed the black inner storage from front center hatch in their Pro XP?
I need ideas on how to keep front deck seat holes from leaking water into it.
I have hole plugs to go in the the seat holes, but I don't think that will keep water from seeping in them.
Thought about running a hose from underneath???
    Suggestions welcome...Thanks!

I fish in the rain a lot and I've only had a slight bit of moisture (nothing standing) in the compartment just using hole plugs. IMO don't overthink it if you don't have to. I'm so confident in it keeping water out, I keep rain gear, life jackets and throw cushion in there. Only in those all day downpours I get a little moisture so I just pull the stuff out to dry when I get home. Not soaked at all.

It was out of my old boat when i bought it and he had plumbed it into the bilge. A simple clear hose and some zip ties. Never had a single issue with any water getting into the compartment
They aint got hands, set the hook

Thanks! That's a good thought. I have 2 seat holes, & maybe you do too, but I guess I'd have to run 2 hoses into one drain hole that's 1 3/4"

Thanks, good to know. I thought about just getting some O rings for the plugs too.

I rigged my own drain kit up when I pulled my lazy susan out. Here is a picture I had stuck in my archives of someone else's version. It worked.
