What is all the hubub about Googan baits?

They really don't look different from anything else out there.
Is it a marketing ploy that has the "team" guys on their facebook site
pumping up the value with photos and video?
    Question everything!

The different Googan Squad members are pretty popular on youtube. I watch Lunkers and LakeForkGuy. They pump up the products as they use them so there's definitely marketing involved. I've bought a couple different things to try this spring. Maybe they're the same as everything else, and if they are I'm happy to send my money towards people I enjoy watching on youtube.

Just the same as any other bait / rod mfg out there. Find something you like and tweak it slightly to your liking then call it your own. They just happen to have a huge youtube following which most do not. Nothing real special going on.

They actually licensed the use of the flanged appendages from SK.

Pretty much. I have no issues with people taking advantage of things and making all the money they can make. I just wish they didn’t have to act like idiots to do it... but that’s the world we live in today. Acting like a fool gets you paid....

Watched one of their stupid videos once. Waste of my time. Must be more geared for the FB drama queen crowd.

Just another knockoff plastic company. Kudos to them for making something profitable using their reach, but they aren't going to get much support from the people who spend thousands of dollars a year rather than just tens of dollars a year.

You would be surprised at who is buying them. Also in regards to kids they may not have a lot of spending money but their parents do. We have 200-500 boat HS events regularly and here so it's a strong demographic. Hrow in over 1M followers and they move a lot of product. I've seen with my own eyes lines 2hrs long to meet them.

Nothing wrong with that at all. All Senkos and Zoom do is catch fish.

Yup... I cant imagine what their Christmas sales are like. Getting ready to buy a Favorite rod for a friend of the family for his graduation. Hes been following them for a long while and loves the stuff. Keeps him out of trouble so worth it to me. Is the rod worth the price??? Probably not.... But I have yet to see a mass produced rod I felt was worth whats being charged so no reason to complain.
