    Considering upgrade to Ultrex

I am considering upgrading my 80# Minn Kota Maxxuum to one of the 80# Minn Kota Ultrex but wanted to hear form others that have made similar upgrade.

Would you recommend the 45" of 52" shaft for a 2007 Stratos 201 Pro?

Has anyone ever made a purchase from the Minn Kota Factory Outlet?

Minn Kota Factory outlet is an online store. Minn Kota has no ties to this store. As far as shaft length. It depends on what type of fishing you are doing. If you fish big water with a lot of wave frequently then 52" it the ticket.

    I would only get the 52" if I fished a lot of big bouncy waves......which I don't.
Your fishing style gives you the answer.

The prop/motor on a 45" Ultrex is about 2 1/2 inches deeper that a 45" Maxxum Pro. If the 45 Max works for you now then a 45 Ultrex will work.

The 45" should be fine unless you fish big water a lot or a Tourney circuit where you have to go fish no matter what the conditions, then you should go with the 52". Also, some travel covers will still fit over a 45 but need additional piece added.

AND, I purchased mine thru Factory Outlet and had no trouble. If there's a problem with your Ultrex, you take it to an ASC for repair just like you would if you bought it anywhere else. Just be sure to register it and keep the receipt.
