USA *** DIY Minn Kota Terrova Upgrade to Bluetooth ***

    ***NOTE***
This is for the 24/36 volt Terrova Bluetooth i-Pilot upgrade. If you got a 12 volt then you will order the 12 volt circuit board (2774067). There is a kit (2774057 Head/remote/heading sensor only) if you want but still have to buy the board and everything listed in the parts section. Shop around for the board, remote, heading sensor on ebay and save you a lot of money. When checking out at Minn Kota make sure to change shipping method to save on shipping. Pretty straight forward install if you're handy with a phillip screw driver, all plug and play. Hardest part was removing the screw for the board but find the right screw head and you won't strip it.

Here is all the parts needed to do a complete upgrade:

    Board:
CTRL BD,24/36V IP TRV BT 2774069

    Head:
    i-PILOT CONTROLLER 1.6 TRV,UTX I PILOT 1.6 SERVICE 2774062

    Remote:
    i-PILOT REMOTE-BLUETOOTH 1866550

    Heading Sensor:
BLUETOOTH HEADING SENSOR 1866680 (If you want jog feature)

    Parts:
    CONTROL BOX 2292500
    HOUSING-CENTER 2326530
    DECAL 2325652
    LOCKING TAB 2320830
    SCREW-#4-24 X 3/8 2383428 (order 2)
STRAIN RELIEF, HEYCO P/N 1852 2322901 <-(Easy to remove old one but just in case only $.19)

Much appreciated @dsgb. Now to figure out how much this will cost and if it's worth the investment vs buying a new one. Thanks again and I will post an update should I go through with it.

You will have to change the GPS module to I-pilot and change the control board.

I forgot to ask @dsgb, is this for adding iPilot Link as well or would there be another part that I need for that?

As I stated above if you want to convert a non BT troll motor to a BT I-pilot or I-pilot link you will have to change the the GPS module the remote and the control board. You will also have to specify which you want to convert to. I-pilot or I-pilot link because they have different remotes.

He is correct in what he stated, but I was reading what you stated and I thought you were still confused. I stand corrected.

If you want Link then you will buy the Link head and Link remote. Everything else will stay the same. Only reason I didn't go Link is because I got the BT iPilot remote for free.

Sorry to revive this old post but in the parts it list the heading sensor as “if you want jog” does that mean the spot lock and autopilot function will work just fine and stay on course without the external gps module?

It is not an external GPS module, it is a Heading Sensor (compass). iPilot is the GPS.

well the last 2 responses seem to contradict each other do they not? Would that not mean you only have advanced autopilot and not legacy autopilot then ? It was explained to me that advanced used gps guidance and legacy used compass heading. guessing there is another compass in the terrova head?
