Yes, good idea.
The main thing is don't do what you did to cause it to break in the first place. Don't tighten the hose clamp so much, it should be only firm so it can move when it hits something.
Some use plastic cable ties instead of a hose clamp to eliminate breaking the transducer ears.

Get 2 of the transducer shields for that model and "sandwich" between. The saver is held on by hose clamps too. Instructions on their site

I've found slow-cure industrial epoxy cures to already poured epoxy best from the LED pods I have poured for my own rig and smelt fishing IMO - JB weld probably won't give as good of cohesion factor, as the new sort of "melds" with the old epoxy.
Look up Rickie, this will also give you a stout repair.
