    Recessed Tray

I’ve been wanting to run a recessed tray for my Ultrex, but ran into all sorts structural aluminum under the deck. Anyone ever run into this and find a workaround?

Name your boat model and year, this will get you a better response.

Nice, you shed a few unnecessary ounces of aluminum structure at the same time!

Interesting. I was concerned that I may impact the structural integrity of the boat some.

For those that asked, this is a 2002 Fisher Marshhawk 175V (Tracker), see the bracing pic below.

No, just removed it. It's an aluminum deck, and I am working on the wiring right now so I figured what better time to plan out the tray.

It's the Comfortroll Deluxe. I bought it from Hydrilla Gear.

I cut slightly smaller than the template and slowly trimmed away more of the bracing till the tray pressure fit with the bracing. I then riveted the bracing to the aluminum decking below the lip of the tray's trim ring. The trim ring then screws to the decking. I like to think the bracing pushing against the tray below deck, riveting the decking to the brace and the trim ring screwed to the decking adds a decent amount of support. I have no deck flex on it over the summer (installed in July) when I was 350LBS.
