Murfreesboro is a great place to live. What are you doing though retiring or just a job change?

Job change. I don't know much about any of those places except they will be much warmer than here.

You are on a fishing web site. Birmingham would be a great choice if you like to fish. You could re locate a little north east of the city and have your choice of places to fish. There's more good fishing water there than a man could cover in a life time.

Greenville. I really liked the area when I went and visited my brother in law there. I could move there tomorrow.

Been to every single one ... Greenville or Panama City.
It would depend on what they like to do in particular.
And their tolerance for colder weather, etc.
Greenville is gorgeous, great fishing and hiking.
Panama City is warmer, beaches, offshore fishing, etc.
SC has higher taxes than Florida, be aware.

Prairieville is a good area that is close to Gonzales (5-10 minutes). One of the best school districts in the state if you have kids. Just have to pick the right area so you have no flood zones and good schools and no major traffic issues. Also, 10 minutes to Baton Rouge. Far enough from the coast for hurricane surges not to be an issue but close enough to a lot of fresh and saltwater fishing. Toledo Bend is 4 hours, Venice is 2.5 hrs. Atchafalaya basin and marsh 1 to 1.5 hours, and launches everywhere in between. Cabelas is 5 minutes down the road, Academy is 15 minutes, and Bass Pro is 25 or so. I've lived in the area all my life if you have any questions about Gonzales LA area feel free to ask. We had to move a few years ago, got bought out by industry but we had over a year to look for a new place.

    Florence and then Greenville.
