    RPM's on a older fast strike 150

Another question on the new to me Johnson Fast Strike 150. It's a 1993 model J150GLETG. Seems to be in good shape, starts right up and runs smooth.

What should I be running as my max RPM trimmed? I don't want to run her too hard but want to get all I can without abusing it. So far 5000 RPM has been my max.

Also any recommendations on what oil I should run in it?

    Thanks!

Max RPM's is 5500, so you can push it a little farther if you want. XD-50 oil is a good choice for that motor. There are several others that like the Pennzoil synthetic blend, as it is readily available in most auto parts stores.

Operating range for your motor is 4500-5500 RPM with the HP rated at 5000 RPM. Water pressure at WOT and full trim should not be below 18 PSI.
