I got a very good deal last Nov. on a 2018 Z19 & I have not yet got it wet.. I have the opportunity to upgrade to a 200 4 stroke ..but it ain't cheap.. I'm worried I might be under powered...thoughts?

upgrade to 200. The 150 is underpowered for the Z19 plus your resale will be much better with the 200
That's what I'm hearing....but that's not what I wanted to hear
There isn’t any reason to not run it with a 150 but I wouldn’t. Is the price of getting a 200 worth it to you though? Are you planning on keeping it a while?
As long as you’re happy with a slower speed and a longer wholeshot while making your motor work a little harder than a 200 would, there is no reason to change. My guess is you would probably get about 55mph at most out of the 150. You’d be at least 10mph faster with the 200
No sure how much your talking but....I would do it. 200 4 stroke is worth it. Performance will be much better and resale night and day different.
Upgrade. My Z-7, which is a smaller boat than the Z19, is under powered with the 150.

it would be around 7k more..installed..

That would be hard for me to swallow. After buying the 200, is the boat still a good deal?
So what do you have in the boat as it is? So what I'm thinking is if you trade the 150 plus the 7k puts you at the 39-41k depending what options are on the boat then you should be ok. Just my opinion
My opinion is you will not be happy with the 150 and will always say "I should have upgraded" to yourself every time you take off with a loaded boat.

ok, I'm convinced .. I'm retired & want to use this a lot.. I've downgraded a lot to be where I am and I don't want to start everyday on the water thinking 'I shoulda..." Now the challenge is to find a 200 4 stroke Merc... or my friend is telling me get a Honda with their insane warranty. any thoughts on that? .. how about a rude? .. I'm hearing these 200 Mercs are starting to be as easy to find as a unicorn.... thoughts?
Mercury and only mercury.
Hell NO on the rude.
Upgrade. You’ll never be happy if you don’t.

Kenny,
I have a 2017 Z19 with a Merc 200 Pro XS (2 stroke). My top speed with a light load is 66 (3" PTP, 4 batteries, 2 PowerPole Blades, 5/8 full gas tank. Speed with the 2nd console, gear, full live well and another angler aka "heavy load" I'm running 60 to 62 depending upon water temp. Some other owners get 68 or slightly more. I hear the new Merc 4 stroke Pro XS is a little faster. So there you have it, real world numbers that you can compare to that performance sheet. Were those tests ran on your specific boat?
