    FX20, 250SHO Prop Question

I'm running a FXP26p on FX20LE SHO 250 2 Power poles. By myself and light load i run 75 @5900rpms. When I have 2 people in the boat, I run 70-71 at around 5700rpms. I was looking to get better performance with two people. I've heard of people running 25P T2 and having better results. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is it worth going to a 25p T2 with the numbers I'm seeing?

A 25t2 may be too light of a prop for you if you can turn a 26FXP that high. It would probably help you out though to get your RPMs with 2 people.

    ..?
As a fx20 owner I have to ask, what are you expecting to run at with 2 people, power poles and gear.

Simple suggestion if your after speed run with less gas and gear, much cheaper and there is no way anyone is going too tell me they can notice a difference of a few miles addition speed.

I run a stock prop. When I hit 70 I'm too busy controlling the boat to even bother figuring out how fast I'm going. So i guess i can't really help you. Though I know I have more in the motor my biggest thing I run light.

Not with Poles, 2 guys and a load it drops off a lot. you can expect at least 5/6 MPH less when loaded and poles easy.

I'm running a 25 T2 that I had worked by Mark Croxton on my 18 ZX 250 Atlas Hyd plate ,2 PP's by myself with full Tourney load 3/4 fuel full wells I am running 74.6 to 75 with my partner added I get 72.5 - 73.1 depending on air temps.

P.S. This was the second rework on this prop as I had sent it to another guy first who promised great things and I lost 3 mph from the original factory prop right out of box. down to 69 MPH. Called Croxton sent it back off and what a difference.

The FX is a heavier hull than the ZX. the FX shares same hull as the Iclass but different top cap. ZX series will always run faster. Flashing your SHO would be the way to go though.

Dont count on it. I have a 2015 ZX 250. Dual poles, dual console, all the tackle it will hold and 2 guys in cool weather with a flashed ECU from Hydrotech and a worked 25 T-1 double cupped from croxton. Best i have seen is 74mph. I dont have a hydro plate however.

Was the flash worth it. I have the same boat and I am seriously considering it. Did you raise the limiter?

72-73 is very likely, and 74 would be about tops with a stock rig, and a good prop. You might need to do a weight distribution as well especially when you have 2 people in the boat. The FXP props never really ran good with the FX hull. It was always the T1s that ran faster. I also know that Greenwood, and Clarks Hill always gets me about 1mph slower than Santee or Wateree due to the elevation.

Depends on "was worth it" means to you. I was running 69-70 loaded 2 guys etc. Now I run 73-74. About 3mph. I noticed mid range punch is quicker as well.

I have the same boat, 16 FX20LE with 26 & an Atlas. I get the same numbers & I’m loaded down with 30 rods and a tackle store...

But, I could care less about going over 74mph..
