Question Marty’s rebuilt motors in Bristol TN?

Looking at a boat with a 150 XR6 rebuilt by a guy named Marty Stewart in Bristol, TN. Anybody know this guy or dealt with him? Also, any info on an XR6 would help. Thanks!

As for the XR6, they were built on the tried and true 2.5L Platform.

They are a carb engine, and although they can be made to run well, they are not fond of this product they call "fuel" today.

Don, I don't think they ever made a carb outboard that was easy on fuel.

Well then... guess I better try again.

Many of the Carb engine models tend to experience some poor running characteristics (especially idle/acceleration and restarts) due to the changes made in engine fuels.

Ok, I see what you're saying now. Yes, the ethanol laced crap they sell us today doesn't work well in some of the older motors.
