I used the glue from bassboatseats.com.
I even had a tub unused that they let me return.

I've always used the latex indoor-outdoor glue on the boat decks and never had a problem with it. Contact cement on the lids but it is too hard to work with on the decks because you can't adjust the carpet once its down.

Any comments on the exact brand and type of glue to use and where to get it?

A tub of glue? That could get sticky
