    Seat Post

I have a new fishing partner this year who is an older gentleman and requires the rear seat to be in. So I put it in for him and when I get home I have to use a big pair of channel locks to get it out every time. I have sanded it a bit until it was really shiny that didn’t work so next time I put a small amount of oil still needed pliers to remove it. Is there anything I can do to make it easier to remove? Or an insert of some kind so I could get a different post? I really don’t want to have to do major surgery to change it around. It’s a 2000 202.

THere's a peg insert to convert them. Takes about 10 seconds to tap in with a rubber mallet.

Pretty sure this bushing changes it from 1.77 spring lock to 3/4" drop in post.

Well don’t forget that our bases are 1.75 and the new 1.77 will get stuck in the hole too.

That 3/4" bushing is the way to go. I did it a couple of years ago and it solves the post problems. Mine were always stuck like glue and got tired of fighting them.

You can also use a flap wheel sander on the inside of the base, just a tiny bit. This is what I would do, rather than have to buy new pedestals to fit pin type bases......
