Helix 9 DI issue???

So I need someone to really dumb something down to help me. I bought a boat about a month ago and it has a Helix 9 DI at the bow. It has a ultrex trolling motor with the built in transducer. I bought the cord off of Amazon to connect that unit to the ultrex transducer. So now to the issue. My depth will read correct for a minute then it will double the depth and get lines in it. The 2d sonar is the only thing that works. The DI doesn't even register. So in my ignorant opinion I am thinking I need a new transducer. Can someone give me some insight of what I need to do or what information will help you to tell me what I need to do.

What frequency are you using for 2D sonar?

What software version does the Helix have?

Wayne tell me how to get the information you are asking me for because I truly am completely dumb on this stuff.

Is the transducer under the electric motor round or elongated? Does the cord from Amazon have a pretty big connector ? If transducer is US2, you will not get DI from it. Double depth is pretty usual and lines in it is interference probably.

The unit model name is on a bar code sticker on the back of the unit, displayed in the SYSTEM STATUS view, and is displayed on the second start-up screen.

The software version is displayed in the SYSTEM STATUS view.

The frequency is chosen in the main SONAR menu, first item at the top.

The MDI transducer extends over the main part of the trolling motor and is not round, it's long and tapered.

The main thing for Down Imaging, it has to be the MDI transducer to have Down Imaging.

My transducer is round and it was a small connector for the transducer. I will look this evening to tell you the other stuff.

The round transducer is the US2 and only does 83/200 kHz 2D sonar. To use that transducer with a DI unit, you have to set the Connected Transducer setting to Generic 83/200 kHz and you will not have Down Imaging.

No, it's been done a few thousand times.
Just need the correct one that matches your unit and frequency choices.
