    Helix 12 SI G2N vs Helix 10 SI G3N

I can get either a Helix 12 SI Mega G2N or Helix 10 SI Mega+ G3N for the console of my boat for the same price.

Is the Mega+ that much better? Or should I stick with the bigger display?

I originally had this in the Humminbird thread but thought it might get more opinions here. Thanks!

They claim 20% more detail with G3. I'm in the same boat as you. Been looking at upgrading from 998 SIHD but have no issues with what I'm seeing on screen.

Not really sure if you would really notice the difference in detail. With the Mega+G3 you can side scan farther out to the side and downscale deeper than the previous generation, if that is important to you. Personally, I would go with the larger display. Next year it will be something even newer, so you can't win.

Good choice, if you ever want to experiment with different transducers, it will support 19 different ones.

I think I would choose greater detail once I got to a 10” screen. If you were smaller than that, I would say go with the bigger screen. In the end it looks like you made the right choice though
