    Some work pics ...

Spent the last couple of days at the Red Hook marine terminal in Newark NJ working on one of these two Liebherr 104 ton cranes. It's pretty impressive watching them pick and stack containers like Legos, the guys that run them have crazy skill. The size and scope of the vessels & equipment overall is pretty astounding.

It depends on the year of manufacture, there were different options available. Liebherr is a Swiss company with production based mostly in Germany, so the engine options through the years have been German ... Mercedes, M.A.N. and most recently Liebherr's own branded engines. The engine in the above pictures is this Mercedes OM444 LA, which is a V12.

Part of my job is managing the mobile equipment fleet. We run Liebherr rubber tire material handlers that use log grapples to manage the log yards and debarker infeed at our engineered wood panel manufacturing sites. Beasts.

What s the displacement of that engine and does it run electric motors or hydraulic?

Just a tic under 22 litres, which is roughly 1342 c.i.d. It runs hydraulics

Liebherr also makes the largest rubber tire wheel loader in the world if it hasn't changed.
