    I have the same boat as you and I am still checking on this as well. My current LSS2 is on the step, but my rigging guy is saying below the livewell drains fo my new transducer - so it will actually stick out and be lower.

    i am mounting my 2 n 1 on the step,thats where ranger puts them at from the factory

    Thats where my LSS2 is currently at with a TSS mount. I just thought if there was a better place for better resolution/water clarity (less turbulence)
