Helix 12 SI mega G2N or Helix 10 SI Mega+ G3N for console?

I can get either a Helix 12 SI Mega G2N or Helix 10 SI Mega+ G3N for the console of my boat for the same price.

Is the Mega+ that much better? Or should I stick with the bigger display?

I just went through this and went with the bigger display. Always thought bigger would be better. The challenge is the updates that follow though. Curious to hear everyone elses thoughts.

I mounted a Helix 12 Mega Si on the console of my 2010 Ranger Z521. If you choose to go that route, make sure you've got a robust mounting strategy, it's a heavy unit. I backed the beauty plate with an 1/8" aluminum plate and went up a screw size to secure it to the console. I also went with the Dek-It mount, which is a nice and robust mount. It packages okay, and gives pretty good clearance between the wheel if mounted correctly. It also doesn't stick out too far from the window envelope, at least on my model Ranger. My only concern is long term robustness, as I run big water, and there isn't a lot of material on bosses that the beauty plate secures to.

One last bit of advice. Even a 12" display can shrink considerably when you're running a chart and side scan in the same window.

    Good luck!

Both of the units are Mega, one is Mega+ but has a smaller screen.

I ended up spending extra money and got the 12” Mega+
