for once we have proof of an act that has more to do with others than oneself, and there s still bitching and moaning. I personally do this often, i also throw my poles down with my lanyard once the boat hits deep water. Slows the drift and if it heads for shore it will stop a hair short usually. Either way, those that are complaining, I will assume, they don’t fish big trails where it take 1.5-2hours to get people launched. Opinions
We even do it up here in club tourneys...I didn’t know it made us look like jerks ??
We do it all the time to speed things up. Nothing worse than the guy or 2 that launches, ties his boat to the dock and drives off. Walking back decided he needs to use the facilities. Then back to the truck to get his smokes. Wanders down and wonders why everyone is in line waiting to launch. Common sense.
Of course we have the guy with the Ulterra and remote control. He launches and remote drives it over to shore. Says it is the most expensive radio controlled Skeeter in town.
Yes the boys seem to have some Chafing of The Cotton this morning.
I agree with Mark for the most part.....but, the original post does say it damaged another boat.
Sometimes bad things happen, even when everyone is doing it the same way.
Don't remember ever doing it that way in the clubs I was in, but I also made sure I was there early, like usually the 1st one in the water, so my rig was launched, tied up, and all ready to go by the time everyone else arrived, and I was probably taking a nap on the front deck when they did.

If Boyd wins this site could self destruct.

Actually it says it smoked another boat, most likely it just bumped up against someone else’s boat and they overreacted. That’s what rubrails are for.
Hey! You scratched my anchor!
If they truly didn't like Him, I'd opine someone would unscrew the plug before launching??
really....if someone else damages your hammer, you're not gonna be upset ?? (and maybe a little skeered, as it takes a pretty big person to break a hammer )
My vehicle is a tool to get me from point A to point B, and all points in between.......but if you damage it, I am still gonna be pissed and looking for compensation.
My point was, the original post is not clear on how much if any damage was actually done.......and no mention of any discussion over damage........so you are left assume what really happened

Years ago, I fished in a jr classic. I had ZellRowland as my boater... KVD smacked the shit out of the cowling of our boat. They both laughed it off. If that happened at a local level, yes there would probably be an issue, but the truth is, kicking a boat off when you are solo is a common occurence, and if there was an issue with how it was handled I’m sure someone would have said something.
