Buying a vehicle for the wife without her knowing?

Anyone ever do so? How did you go about doing it without her finding our? I would like to do this in the future but with my luck I will buy it, surprise her and then she won’t like how it drives, etc.

Brave man. My wife is too picky to try something like that.

Better would be to let her pick out what she wants rather than surprising her with something she might not want.

I would put something that shows the amount I am going to spend in a box and wrap it. She opens it and sees the amount she will be happy and she gets to shop for a new ride.

Yeah I think I’d blindfold her and tell her you got a surprise for her. Then drive her to dealership and take the blindfold off there.

Maybe even talk to the dealership in advance and see if they would you put a ribbon on a car. Even if it’s not the one you end up with. If they know you’re coming to buy one, I’d doubt they care one bit.

The one she has now I told her to order exactly what she wanted. When it came in I asked her if she wanted me to go with her to pick it up? I would never pick a car for her.

That sounds like a sure way to get a horrible deal.

I bought my wife a new Tahoe last year and the sales lady delivered it to her at lunch to her office. She had a bunch of balloons, flowers, and a bottle of champagne in the front seat. She wasn't overly surprised but still kinda didn't really think I would have done it.

No way for me. We were car shopping, she wanted a red mustang. Go to the dealer, she sees a black convertible, story over. Unless you know exactly what she wants, seems risky to me.

Yes and she loved the surprise. She has been driving it for over 10 years now. Just turned 100k. Been trying to convince her to sell it and get new but she still enjoys her car.

My wife bought us a civic with 30k miles without me knowing. No big deal but I had just looked at a new Corolla for the same price in Alabama; slightly miffed. When she made an offer on a house without asking, I almost got upset.

I've done it a couple of times. My wife is simple and it was great every time but the green expedition. She didn't care how cheap it was. Lol. I ended driving it for a couple of months before I sold it.
