Update Saturday..Lea is doing well. In the end she has right atrial dialation, enlarged heart. From years of high bp, etc. Etc. being high blood pressure, smoking, beer drinking, ...lol...... Anyhow, the trick is to find the right combo of meds to get her heart out of afib. Afib potential is throwing blood clots that could have catastrophe results.
Today, after tweaking meds, things are looking very good..heart rate, o2, bp, etc. Blood thinners for the possible clots associated with afib on board. She will go to intensive physical therapy when she gets home. Will stay with me for several weeks of pt, regular docs appts, etc. to get things where she can go home alone. One big downside, in Virginia, after a brain event, you cannot drive for 6 months. (Bassboats not included...lol)
So overall things are looking good. Docs are amazed how well she came thru all this. Her speech has returned to normal. She was very lucky the clot did not cause irreparable damage.
