    Question Thrift vs Wheeler

Thrift was only .250 out of Bassfan number 1 ranking. He finished 26th in latest FLW.
It appears Wheeler will finish MLF in the 30's.
Do we have a new #1?

Thrift finished 26th out of 170 so he beat roughly 85% of the field.

If Wheeler finishes 35th out of 80 he only beat 57% of the field.

    So Thrift should gain points.

In the real world does it really matter.

Bass fisherman don't live in the real world. The real world thinks we are slightly off spending all the time and money we do on pursuing a little green or brown fish. It has taken me over 40 years of marriage to get my wife to come to grips with this. I have never understood the BassFan ranking system and the formula they use. Seemed odd that Thrift didn't go BPT and Wheeler did and Wheeler moved ahead of Thrift. Maybe being a BPT member adds a few points?

I don’t get their ranking system either. I’ve seen some up top that surprised me but I don’t know what BF bases it on.

Yeah, but I don't think they disclose the full formula.

I think Thrift is by far the best angler in the world and would have been very competitive from the start on the elites. I think MLF suits his style even better and he would really have a chance to dominate there. Anyone else agree? I know he is very happy on FLW but fun to think about as a Fan.

I think if you are good you are good. You could probably put him on any circuit and he would excel.

True, any they would potentially have to re-write it for MLF. Does all their twists and turn suit well for an apples to oranges ranking?

Bassfan is biased for sure. He should be way ahead of Wheeler at this point.

No doubt that Thrift is a great angler. I'm not going to say he is by far the best though.
