Anyone going to try the new helix 1.90 software this weekend??

I saw 1.90 is on humminbirds website now. Anyone going to give it a shot this weekend? If so, tell us all about it. It shows released on the 6th, but I didn't see it the other night I just happened to check. Seems to mention everything I had issues with before..... but then again.... so did the last one. I've got my fingers crossed!!!

General Fixes:

SONAR:

Fixed several issues with 2D Sonar digital depth tracking.
Fixed an issue with 2D Sonar performance on ICE HELIX models.
Fixed an issue where the “check/enter key” would not change frequencies on sonar views.
360 IMAGING:

Fixed an issue where 360 would not connect and display data in a timely manner.
Fixed an issue where 360 sensitivities less than 10 did not change the 360 sensitivity setting.
i-PILOT LINK:

Fixed an issue where HELIX would reboot when i-Pilot Link connected if the HELIX was updated with i-Pilot Link Auto-Upload Nav Data turned on.
CHART:

Fixed a HELIX issue where heading data from the i-Pilot Link was not turning off correctly when the i-Pilot Link motor was stowed.
SYSTEM:

Fixed an issue where updating from software older than 1.400 to new software would cause an update issue.

Hmmmm, interesting... I didn’t see this one yet and I’ve been waiting out the last couple updates. Anyone feeling lucky?

Yeah.... I did the last one, but ended up going back to 1.61 because of most of the issues listed that this new update references. Most issues I could have worked around, but I couldn't handle the sensitivity screw up on 360. I'm sure hoping this one gets things back right. Probably not going to get too many more updates for the gen 2's. I'll give it a shot if I get to go fishing this sunday.

Sent my unit in for repair and they upgraded it to 1.84 I think . Have not used on water yet.

Got it loaded in the Helix 12 CHIRP SI GPS and Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2.
Simulator test----

You can tell the 360 Sensitivity issue was fixed by running Simulator. The glitch was present in Normal and Simulator before.
The SI Sensitivity setting in the Enhance menu does not work. Adjusting using the + and - works as well as short cut Sensitivity.
The Contrast setting does not work in the DI Enhance menu.


Helix 7:
Same issues with SI and DI.

I'll do the depth test on the water sometime today.

Well that’s not encouraging.

Yeah.... that is frustrating to know. I know the functions still work in other ways, but when the basic operations of the software don't even work right..... nevermind.... if that's as bad as it is and the other stuff is right, I can live with that but shouldn't have to.

How does having the sensitivity range not work slip by the programming? Sad to say the least but I’ll be trying since the last few updates have been absolute garbage.

Those issues may work OK in Normal. Cannot tell in my den.

Just got back from the lake.
Both units had no issue with depth even in 1.5' depths above a concrete ramp.

Helix 12 CHIRP SI GPS:
SI Enhance menu Sensitivity does not work all the time using the left and right 4-way button. Still can adjust using the + and - buttons. Restarting makes it work again. It seems switching back and fourth between SI and DI locks it up.
The Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2 does the same thing.
360 Sensitivity works through the whole range.

Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2:
DI Enhance Contrast does not work no matter if the Sensitivity is - or + Zero.

Yes, with the Enhance Sensitivity and Contrast due to the -10 to 20 Sensitivity setting if you set it lower than 0.
Same as the older units pre 1.900.

Yes since I don't bother with the Enhance menu anyway.
When checking the depth issue, I used the default Sensitivity setting with dual beam for 2D sonar from about 40' to 1.5'.
The only other 2D setting I changed was the color.
