Nice. Was it old stock? Lol

For me, it's $409.99-10%+10%(sales tax)+$27 core charge. So about $440 if I don't have a battery to trade in.

Yes I have a 4 bank 15 amp charger which I always hookup overnight after and before each trip. And I would agree it seems to be worse when its cold.

You might do some research on use of the phrase. It is pejorative.

The battery I got was not old stock, was manufactured this month. It had actually just been delivered a few hours before I picked it up!

Just make sure it is the Deka made version. For $180 it is the best value in batteries.

thanks for sharing that is great info. I may get the group 27 agms for my tm now. Was going to go with everstart max but that makes the price difference pretty reasonable.

If it hasn't got at least 950 CCAs I wouldn't use it as a cranking battery for my Pro XS.....I run the 31 series X2 Power Premium AGM from batteries plus w/1150 CCAs.

True it is, however read the second paragraph in the post

This napa battery still has my interest, light weight & 3 year warranty. The X2 is awesome, but it’s around 75lbs. Sams battery is so close to the min CCA for a Merc.

It is right at minimum. If I were looking for an AGM in the 200 dollar area for my Opti, and accessories, I would choose the one below over the Sam's. The Duracell at Sam's is a rebadged Deka Intimidator 8A31 with only 800 ccas. This one is a rebadged Intimidator 9A31 with 925 ccas for 30 dollars more. O'Reilly has their relabelled vision as well, as do other retailers.

As it is, I do well with the Napa/Deka flooded commercial battery for cranking.

It didnt..it wasn't used in a derogatory way...you did nothing wrong..

Now the battery issue, $440 bucks for a battery....go buy another $150 interstate, put a jumper on it and run it as a big ass 12V and be done with it...yeah you got extra weight of another battery back there but so what...you'll not have to worry about running out of juice anymore... period...

Buy what you want but that NAPA battery is a beast: weighs 61#,Reserve 195, CA=1380, CCA=1125, $159.95, Part #7234 or #7235, and leaves your wallet heavier after the purchase, to each his own.
