Don't waste your time or money on that battery it only has 800 CCA. Why so many on here try to skimp on the lifeline of your day is beyond me. Buy the best and be done, that would be #1 the Odyssey PC2150 or 2nd The X2. I have a PRO XS 250 and run the Odyssey PC2150 and at the end of the day I know my motor will crank. $400. for a battery that will get me to weigh in on time worry free for at least 3 years is money well spent.

my optima was new in May of 15. Ram four seasons on it but had to make may way through during the latter part of last summer fall. I noticed it was getting where it would only read 12.2v after getting fully charged.

I agree that it is a crap shoot with the Sam's 31 AGM and an Opti if you are looking for longevity. The engine alone needs 800 ccas just to crank it, so, to allow for accessories like livewell, graphs, shallow anchors, etc., it is best to have at least 1000 ccas for a crank battery. That Northstar/X2 or the Odyssey are probably the best two AGM's around, and great warranties.

I don't use an AGM for cranking my Opti, but I use flooded commercial Deka batteries that have over 1000 ccas. Last one lasted almost four years.

One more vote for the SAMs Duracell AGM 31. Had one cranking a 200 SHO for 2 years. Also runs livewell pumps, hds12 gen 3, Hds9 Carbon. Never had a problem......never a doubt. I had a Odysee 2150 look alike before not worth the difference in price in my opinion.

    31 Duracell has CCA at 0 degrees F= 800A......MCA at 32 degrees F = 1000A and Odyssey PC2150 has CCA: 1,150A at 0F (-18oC)CA/MCA: 1,370A at 32oF (0oC). ODYSSEY PC2150 for cranking battery and 31 AGM Duracell's for Ultrex.

I’ve got an Optima D31M that’s pushing 4+ years old. My Opti has been a cold cranking slug since day one, but it was with the battery before that. After the initial crank it fires right for the rest of the day. I think it’s just the nature of the beast with Mercury OBs.

I have a Yamaha 250 SHO it only calls for just over 600 cca's it is not the cranking energy hog as the Optimax. The Sam's Duracell 31 AGM is a great battery for a Yamaha application period. If I had a Mercury Optimax (I had 2 different ones in the Past) I would go with something else.

The more I look the more I think I am going to go with the X2 as well. Waiting for them to have rebates here. I think once they add rebates again (guy in store said usually $30) in march or April and their 10% buying online and picking up in store will make the battery around $360. Just curious what you can get it down south for. I am going to do walmart batteries for the TM as you can find a walmart almost anywhere if you need a replacement. I have had good luck with them in the past.

I’m fairly South and it’s not cheaper here! Somewheres around $400 when I priced them.

I am running the Duracell AGM from Sams on my 2016 ProXS 250 and no problems so far, been on it since last may. But it is slow on the first crank of the day for sure. Running birds 12 and 10 with fortrex 112

I decided to quit messing around and bought the batteries X2. It’s s beast and ended up getting it for 350.00 bucks new! It’s got a four year free replacement warranty and that’s the reason I went with it over the odyssey pc2150.

I told the guy at batteries plus I’d buy right then if he’d take 350 and he said done.
