newbiw question on water pump - Fast Strike 150

I have a newly acquired to me Johnson Fast Strike 150. On the test ride I noticed the water gauge only reading approx 7.5 psi. This is my first boat with a water gauge and researching on hear it seems it should be around 20 PSI at WOT. Is this correct?
I ran it for a minute on the ears and noticed that water was only coming out of the small pee hole (at a pretty strong stream) and none from the square ports on either side of the small port. Is this normal?
As a precaution I want to replace the pump. Should I use OEM parts or are the aftermarket pumps ok? Does anyone have a OEM p/n for the pump? I found several different numbers online.

Welcome to the forum. The water pump part number is 5001594 that is the factory pump kit and is the only one I install. Normal idle water pressure is 5-7 psi and over 18 at Wide open throttle (WOT) at full trim is fine. The overboard discharge hole (tell tale) is removable for cleaning and you won't get any water out of the exhaust ports only the discharge. You are correct, it is a 93 model. It is a pretty easy job to do just don't mess with the shift rod adjustment. When you are ready to perform the task, come back on and we'll help you out so it will be as easy as pie.
