Speedo gauge delete

I got a AMP dash panel with the speedo hole delete. How’s everyone deleting the gauge? Can’t just unhook because of the water pressure line. Have a 02 ox66

You can just unhook and plug although I would plug it closer to the motor. I’m not familiar with the yammy but on my merc I’ve got it plugged in the cowl although looking back makes much more sense to plug at the 5/32” push to connect fitting at the lower unit so if it leaks it just goes back to the water.

might have to pull the lower unit and see if I can just remove the whole thing. Just worried about water shooting up into the cowling through the cavity

I put silicone on the threads of a pan head screw, threaded it in and haven't had a leak in over 5 years...
