Question Cable vs Streaming. Are there big difference's

All the talk about cutting the cord has me wondering should I think about. But I have some questions and I figure some of you have the answers.

my biggest thing is we have suddenlink with a TIVO system that we use daily from my wifes shows to my fishing and hunting shows. with our local cable we also have our local cbs, nbc, fox and abc affiliates. also we have n demand and also a channel guide. so I guess what I'm getting at is if I cut the cord are there services out there in streaming that would give me these options. I use a jailbroke firestick and at times I want to throw it out the window. is that the experience I could expect all the time? I appreciate any info as I am outta touch on streaming!!!

Any chance of getting the local affiliates OTA? That would solve half your issues cheaply.

I bought a Channel Master DVR to record all my wife's show that are on the local channels. I bought MyOutdoorTV to get my hunting and fishing fix. It is on demand basically.
