What kind of Top speed are you seeing with the 23 and 24 P tempest? I have a 21P I am getting about 48-49 with two passengers and gear with my 21P. That is GPS.

Guys with the 21p Tempest, what rpm's are you seeing? I'd think you would be getting close to the 6300 max rpm range of the pro xs.

A lot of boat were originally shipped with 24 Tempest plus (as mine was). Mercury said that prop doesn't le motor rev high enough, need a 21p. So I was given a 21p Tempest.
Now engine revs to appropriate rpms. When I have service done with 24p it showed that engine had never been over 5600rpms.... Mercury says that is a problem.

I am curious how a 22p or 23p would do.

Good info! Thank you for sharing. I have the 24p and I would agree that I don't think that I am spinning enough RPM. Did they exchange the prop, or did you have to buy a new 21p prop?

I can get 6300rpm. This is confirmed through vessel view. My analog tachometer actually reads 6500 @6300

If your 21 reved to "appropriate rpms", then why would you change to any other pitch???

21 tempest on mine, 4 inch atlas micro jacker ...obviously the tach is off on my boat. I can bury the needle and not hit the limiter. Does consistent 45-47 depending on load

mine too. Mostly 45 loaded heavy with 21 tempest wonder what a 23 would do

As long as you are in the proper rpm range, I would not touch a thing on your boat, you are running good.

I think the 22 would keep it in the proper rpm range and maybe give little more mph.... But I am not buying a new prop to see. Just wondering.
