I think they look awesome now. It took me a bit though to get used to the change. Now the old Pro XS looks outdated to me. The 4 stroke looks better in person also.

I thought they were very sharp from the first time I saw them, but I said the same about the etec gen2. I guess I like them fat!

They look much better the moment you fire it up for the first time and even better when you nail the throttle for the first time.

They may be ugly till you run one, then they become purty.

Can anyone comment on the new 200 four stroke ProXS? I thought I would never say this but I'm seriously considering a Mercury. I like the new look personally. Reliability, hole shot and top end info appreciated.

Reliability: Doesn’t seem to be an issue, but they’ve only been on the market for one whole year and availability isn’t all that great. Several charter operations are nearing the 1000 hour mark with some V8s.

Hole shot: I repowered a BCB Pantera II and custom aluminum boat with a 200 ProXS and they both felt like it could stand the boat up on the transom if you tried hard enough.

Top end: Most have been seeing gains of 3-4 mph. More in some cases, less in others. Application dependent.

I have a 200 Pro XS on a 20' bay boat. The motor is a beast, hole shot ( you better be holding on ) top end is 59 mph. Nothing negative to report.

get used to them v8s all you hardcore omc guys. they own the bass boat market. you might want to put a g2 in dry storage. they might be worth something one day due to scarcity.
