Question Could you Evinrude guru's review this quote for me?

This is the latest quote I received from a local reputable dealer.

C150FLH Evinrude G-2 High Output with DPS Steering $13975.00

1-768750 Premium concealed side mount rigging kit $1605.00

    1-768841 Ignition Kit $90.00

    1-587205 Battery Cable 10 ft. 4 ga. $75.00

    1-767683 G2 TBX propeller bushing kit $65.00

    1-769969 ICON 3.5 inch Display $485.00

    1-177324 RX4 4 Blade w/variable vent ports 22 pitch $565.00

    1-HH5717-3 Seastar Helm 1.7 $560.00

    1-HO5112 hose kit $105.00

    Sub Total $17525.00

Remove old engine and controls install new

engine, controls, water test and predelivery inspection $850.00

    Total $18375.00

    Plus sales tax 6.75%

If you want foot throttle with this engine it would be $500 if you don't

need a floor mount kit and $320 extra for the floor mount kit.

Seems decent to me, although I've seen the motor listed on sponsor sites for $12,500.
Aside from that, does everything else look legit? I've never repowered before.
Can I assume I would save the $1605 rigging cost if I went with the 7 year warranty?

    Thanks!

have them add the pressure transducer for the 3.5 so you can get water pressure - other than that it looks good. My 200 was $18400 before i added the 3.5, and the pressure transducer. I might be wrong but if you have them rig for free, you go to 5 years. pay for the rigging and get the 10 years - the warranty has way more value than $1600.

i think i would still spend the 1600 for the rigging and get the 3 years.

Very close to mine done last year. No DPS on mine, no 3.5 gauge. I got the iLink module for wireless data to my smartphone instead. I got the foot throttle.

Do you have hydraulic on the hull now? And are you capable of pulling the old wire harness control box etc.? That would save some jack and do you need DPS?

I would read the fine print on the warranty before making any decision. I'm not saying there is any thing wrong with the warranty.

    It’s not the right prop.
I think I might go with a remanufactured power head. I’m not sure if I can give up the smell of 2-stroke premix.

Posted on your other thread in General. Call Steve at Riverside Marine, Old Hickory Tennessee. I'm running a 25 Tempest+ on my 150 HO G2 and looking for something stiffer.

I can't remember who Fred likes for rebuilt power heads, but could you send him yours? If the head is OK? Just thinking 1991 is the only year for that crank, then everything you have would fit.

I am no expert either but I bet your running a 23 Renegade Bass which has a 13.5" diameter. The RX4 is 15" in diameter so there is a lot more surface area.

Another example is a 4 blade 25 Renegade bass "typically" turns close to the same rpm as a 3 blade Raker 24. The Renegade is 13.5" and the Raker is 14.5"...diameter/surface area makes them harder or easier to turn just like pitch.

Jerry, the block and head are both damaged pretty good on the #4 cylinder. I’m not sure if it’s rebuildable. I was wondering what you guys thought of the remanufactured power heads from Crowley Marine? I can get one with the gasket set shipped to me for under $3500 with a one year warranty. I can swap it out myself.

Actually I’m turning....uhhh...was turning a worked 25 Renegade 5500 RPMS at 64.5 GPS. My motor never got the recall and still had the 335195 heads installed.

Stratos 2004 285 ProXL. 6” Slidemaster jackplate at 3 3/8” prop to pad. 25 Tempest + Mark Croxton B&B hitting red line at 6K. The G2 is a beast on a 18.5’ boat.

Why the premium concealed side mount vs the basic? My understanding is basic will do foot throttle but won't do RPM tune. Should save you about $700

I was hoping for not much damage. I don't have any experience with Crowley Marine, wait for Fred to chime in, he knows the best way for you to go on a rebuilt power head. I think your flywheel will only fit the 1991 crank shaft.

If you want to rebuild yours Chris Carson would be my choice. The crank on the 1991 is a one off crank and the timing disk in NLA it was made for the 91's crank. Crowley Marine is a very large parts supplier for BRP. I wouldn't hesitate to get a reman power head from them, they will need your power head for the core. May also want to contact Riverside Marine in N. Little Rock AR. for many years they did the reman for BRP on both the power heads and gear cases.
