To end this, can we just all agree Champion built the best boats ever, bar none, and move on? I only owned 3 of them and after owning the boat in my siggy, can say I will never buy another of the Champ hull design who ever makes it, but I know my opinion doesn't count.

The OP asked best hull which to me means overall hull, not just best riding, which leaves Champ out. The narrow Champs rode great, I had a 203, the wide bodies not much better than anything else, also had a 198. Stability while fishing, which I do and most other fisherman here do 99.9% of the time, is not near as good with the Champ hulls.

Sorry for the buzzkill tho....please continue to bash away gents

Not trashing anything. I liked my champions. Actually, I loved them. Loved them enough to own 3. But they lacked fishability hard core. My 198 fished well, but my 186 and 181 did not.....Matter of fact I don't know of a more unstable fishing boat......

I would say the BCB Eyra. It does it all well. Dry ride. Fast. Handles likes its on rails. Responsive in rough water.
Sitting low in the cockpit makes it feel secure while driving fast, and rough water riding. Hull design is in a league of its own.

Terrible fishing platform in rough water. Tippiest boat I’ve ever owned. The other stuff you said is true though.

So what we have here are a bunch of guys that think “what they own is the best”. Pretty typical answers from fisherman, if you own a BassCat then THEY are the best. If you own a Ranger, they are the best. A Nitro....yep it’s the best. All I know is that I used to own a Skeeter and it sucked in whitecaps, that hull just caught the wave and you felt it. But yet, Skeeter is the best.

Is it some kind of ego thing or what?

What else can you say? Champion has been mentioned here more times than any other but you’ve finally convinced me! Champion = unstable?

I've owned around 30 bass boats from Allison to Viper and the 21' Pro Vee Bumble Bee was the best ride I've had, with the Stratos 201 being a close second. The Viper/Cobra was the worst. I presently have a Phoenix 721 and it's a great riding boat.

I say "buy the boat you love and love the boat you buy" ..There are few if any boats built today, that are inferior.

For an 18 foot boat my Stratos 284 was a great ride.
Wish I would have never sold it.
