    Registration numbers

Has anyone ever painted their reg numbers on their boat? My stick on numbers were coming off and had the thought, not for sure what type of paint to use

I had mine done by DomedNumbers.com. They use the Bullet font and can match them to your boat. They weren’t cheap but they look great.

Your’s are flat? My Bullet on the side and 21XD on the back side are all domed.

I have flat 3 color ones that match my bullet stickers. Way back before there were domed numbers. Painting them on is a simple process- used to do it all the time. Rubbing compound on a buffer and 15mins its gone and polished. No need to change them while you own it anyway, right? I can probably remove painted on numbers faster than stickers- done it a bunch on boats i flipped. Find a motorcycle shop and get a pinstripe guy to lay em on down.

In Ohio the coast Guard will give you some crap if they are two color or not the block style font. They used to say something to me every year about my 20 XD because they were two color and kinda faded from red to a lighter color. Even though they were on white background.

Not to bring an old thread back from the dead, BUT, my Gambler had the registration numbers painted on when I bought it. Looked great, however obviously I had to remove them. Used Oven cleaner and a rag, took me all of 10 minutes and some elbow grease to remove.
