    2 1/2" static plate with 1 1/2 rise do any good ?

hey guys after lots of measuring i could install a TH static plate of 2 1/2" setback with 1 1/2" rise to the stratos while keeping the cable steering so will there be any advantage doing this ? one major i figured is the possibility to adjust height and remove outboard without touching the transom bolts and sealer
what would 2 1/2" setback do ? the rise would allow the same ptp at 5" +up to 3.25" adjustement with outboard holes .

    stratos 219F 19.3' 175HP intruder at 5"PTP 4 blade 21 trophy 54mph at 5800 3/4 loaded

i know its pretty good but want to get rpms lower and 23 trophy to try next summer ,

    thanks

How long do you think your transom seal is supposed to last?

i think it lasted since 1997 on that boat , looks like it was never touched before i did ,and i may adjust the motor a few times for testing next summer ,so would be hassle to reseal everytime since lots of stuff in the way .

Now I don't want to preach, but you're long long overdue to reseal it.

Usually when you see someone about to step into a hole, "hey there's a hole" is typically not considered offensive.

That boat could have water trapped in the transom and you wouldn't know it. I think Stratos still had wooden transoms and chines that year and the water can get in between the outer hull and the glass liner.

there is wood in there , i've had the boat 3 years now and fixed the only water leak , the livewell outlet sealer underneath + resealed the others too ,and the transom holes look perfectly dry without swelling so that should be allright .

and the motor is off now for some repairs and am going to reseal it properly !i meant for the testing next summer it will be easier to leave the plate and undo outboard bolts from the plate to move motor . not trying to start a fight ! lol
i check this forum daily to learn all i can and appreciate all the help .

To your original question, there's nothing negative about what you're wanting to do.
