    Calcutta 200/400

Are these reels still manufactured in Japan?
    B models, not D.

Because it says Japan/Malaysia on reel foot doesn't mean entire reel was produced there.

    Thanks!
One more question. What are your thoughts on the 200GTB Calcutta? I cant get my hands on one because no one stocks it near me.

Shocked you would prefer the D over the 200GTB. I for one opted for the 200GTB over the D. Solid old skool construction. Its all you would need in a round reel, and smooth to boot. Plus, the drag star is way easier to adjust on the fly. Never understood what Shimano was thinking with the Ds build.

D is far superior mechanically and the "one piece" frame is a brute, it's really to each their own, there is no right or wrong, just strong or stronger. Dan

This is my thoughts as well but I have not spent any quality time with the D model. I was not impressed handling one and have not broken one down.
