    Columbus lake

Gonna be heading up that area in a week or two for a few days and figure I’ll bring the boat since I’ve never been, heard it’s a tuff place to fish. Anybody know anything about this lake ?

Can be decent at times. Winning weight for a 3 the fish Thursday Nighters is usually around 11-12#, and last Summer it took 25# to win a high school tourney. Then it will humble you in a heartbeat. Be careful if you don’t know where you are going, will tear up a boat!

With all the rain expected, save gas and leave your boat at home.

With all this rain coming it will be a cold muddy suck hole until it clears. But if your dead set on fishing it I like to work my frog across all the white foamy stuff that collects on top of the water around the locks when the lake is up and flooded.

We had major flooding here. Ramps just reopened Wednesday. Some channel markers to the Marina and Tibee are missing. Channel into Point Harbor is gone... as in completely filled in with a big sand bar on top. The river was decent, just need to be careful running... It has changed. There is now a shoal blocking the barge channel just south of the Aberdeen lock. 6 weeks until it can dredged and opened to barge traffic.
