Purchasing new Merc ProXS 4-Stroke and financing

I am not sure if this is where I should be asking, but I know a lot of people who have re-powered there boats with a new Merc 4-stroke. Has anyone financed just the motor? If so, what avenue did you take for financing and what rates should I be looking at? My local CU's only offer financing on a boat, not just a motor. I am looking at suggestions so I can secure my financing IF/WHEN my new Merc PROXS 225 4S comes in! Thanks in advanced...

You can probably finance the whole boat, for the price of the motor. Will give the CU lots of financial security in terms of value vs amount owed.

I spoke to USAA. They will finance motor only in NH as boats don't require titles. They also advised I can use the equity from one of my paid off cars or trucks to finance the motor at rate around 4%

Thanks Everyone! I will check out USAA. I was hoping Merc would do there 5.99% like they did a little while back, but doesn't look like they need too. Thanks again!

If you finance with Merc, you may get priority on motor, just a thought.

Talk to your dealer about financing.
