    2003 250 Ficht

    Just purchased 2003 Ranger 521vx with a 250 Ficht Ram injection, pristine boat and motor, 548 total hrs. EMM 57.6 of hours at idle, high rpm numbers where .46 at 5000 and 1.6 4000, the rest spread out, 144.7 max temp. Had dealer do impeller, gear case, plugs, check all systems. What should I know about these motors, I know gear cases where a concern, do these injectors need sent out like HPDI injectors. Thanks Mark

    Yes, DFI Technologies will clean and test them along with other places. If you decide to have them serviced mark each injector to what cylinder it came out of. The injectors have a flow coeffiecient that is programmed into the EMM and if you install the injector into the wrong cylinder you will have running issues. You'll then need to take the motor to a BRP dealer so they can reprogram the EMM.

    That motor is a Direct Injection motor 90 degree if I’m not mistaken these are great motors regardless what everyone says about them. If the proper care has been taken they will last a very long time. By the sounds of it you have one that been well taken care of.
