I didnt touch my remote for about the first 2 months that I had my Ultrex. We have a youth club and some of the kids don't feel comfortable running the trolling motor so we had to do it. The remote has come in handy so I can just sit back and relax in the drivers seat and control the boat, rather than trying to squeeze onto the front deck and be in the way.

My remote is in the glove box. I used it to do the programming and to get familiar with how it works. Been in the glove box ever since.

I use both Remote and pedal equaly. Mostly when off shore at night I use the remote to jog.

Guys keep the remote in the boat and ready to go. My cables broke during a tournament and I was able to use the remote and stay in the game and get the win!

calibrated it, threw the remote in the center console dont think its ever seen the light of day since. hate anything hanging around my neck, especially a big bulky remote.

I love using the remote. I bought the micro remote and use the belt strap instead of the one for around your neck. I probably use the remote 75% of the time but I also don’t throw moving baits very much.

I hardly ever use the remote...ever. I use the spot lock a LOT....really a LOT. My Ultrex has two positions.....one is manually controlled with my foot on the pedal and the other is spot lock.

If I could have bought the spot lock and added it to my Maxuum, I would not have even bought an Ultrex. I read on here something about charging the remote.....I guess I need to check on that because I have no idea..LOL.

The link version has a rechargeable battery and the non link has a replaceable battery.
