Why does the $599 echomap plus 93sv have the CV52HW-TM transducer but the $999 echomap plus 93sv have the GT52 Transducer. Why does the GT52 transducer cost $400 more than the version with the CV52HW-TM Transducer? I am guessing that the CV is a trolling motor xducer?

Nope, they both have the same basic form factor and can mount transom or TM. The CV does not have a dedicated DI crystal, the GT does. There is a long thread here you might want to read CV52 vs GT52... also, the cheaper one comes with US LakeVu HD (G2) preloaded, and the $999 comes with US LakeVu G3 preloaded.

Little difference between the two transducers. As stated the clear vu doesn't have a dedicated Down vu peso. Really doesn't make any difference in depths less than 25-30 feet. if you are wanting to take pictures you may notice at deeper depths, maybe even some shallower. For fishing you are not going to miss anything. Also to be noted there will be a free software update on February 27 th to upgrade the maps. You can't beat these units for the price. They are easy to use, 9 inch, with the option of panoptix/lives cope.

Picked up 93sv echo plus 9". From reading,it sounds like if I upgrade after G3 is out I will have to run map off the SD card. Can anyone confirm and if I could download the G3 bluechart instead of lakevu?

My understanding about having to use the updated map on card is the same....believe its cause the unit doesn't not have enough storage.....I'm sure you can only get the updated that is for that particular units. In other words if you have Lake Vu that's what you get cant swap.

So if you want tidal water like James River or other East coast fisheries best get the 94Sv so you can update with G3 when it comes available. Last question, what is the hardware difference with the 94Sv Echomap Plus g2 unit and g3 when released. I realize the 94 Sv Echomap Plus G3 will be preloaded on the 94Sv. Is there a memory/ speed difference with the current 94Sv g2?

Since you have to use a SD card to update to G3 and then leave the card in the unit, is it best to use the 32 GB card so you have room for QuickDraw additions?
