I'd call him, shoot him an e-mail or ask on the Ranger Board what others are running.

Honestly the first thing I'd do is check to make sure you're getting wot. You should be turning more rpms at 3.25 than 4.25 p2p.

Unless he's lifting the bow better while buried. From those numbers I suspect he needs more setback and/or bow lift.

6000 rpms is wide open . The prop is slipping and needs work or the boat needs to go on a diet . Has the boat ever had the boat plug left in place for extended periods of time with water left in the haul . Ranger uses more blow in expandable foam in there boat than all other manufacturers. That stuff is great in till water saturates the foam . Then the boat starts getting heavier heavier over time .

I had the exact same boat and ran a 25 p raker at 5700 rpm to 68 with a 10 in bobs, the 24 is not enough prop. Ran a 25p tempest and was right at 67.

That's what I was thinking, bigger prop, 225 hp plenty to push the prop not sure how old prop is but probably does need attention.

Went with a 25 tempest that had some cup added, picked up a few mph, all my testing before was done by myself, had a buddy that goes about 220, on the test ride. Should be a little better by myself

The Z20 is a bow-heavy boat and can/will pick up substantial speed if you improve bow lift. A 25 Fury [known good] at ~3 inches ptp is a good prop for bow lift, but Mark is the guru of props and can advise you well on this issue.
