Passenger side rock locker lid

Rarely do I use the passenger side locker for my rods. Mainly loose storage for baits and etc. Has anyone ever modified, or do they make one already, where the locker lid is split into two separate lids for the same compartment?

If your lids are the metal ones, I would think you could have it modified to do what you want. I'm guessing these are aluminum - I'd have a shop weld in pieces to close up the open ends you'd create by cutting across the lid and they'll also add strength. Make sure you leave a little space to wrap carpet on both and it not be too tight to open and close. I'd also make sure you have hinges in the correct locations before you cut the lid - will make lining everything back up a lot easier.

Make sure you do something about the water issues.

There would be no channel lip where the split would be. With two lids sitting next to each other and nothing under them to catch and drain the water your compartment would be getting wet in heavy rain.
