Let's talk current production models first off. There are many fantastic options from previously available models, etc. but it doesn't really help going over those at this point.

Starting at the top, Conquest 842c is a fantastic, but again, not absolutely necessary. In the NRX line, since 842 MBR was discontinued, there isn't an ideal jerk bait rod in that series. GLX, you again have MBR 842c which is a fantastic jerk bait (all purpose) medium power rod. In the IMX-PRO line, the 812 JBR is a good option without spending Conquest or GLX money. Some guys like the IMX PRO CBR 845 with a more moderate flex... there are so many options even within the current line, much of it comes down to personal preference with regard to the length, power, and action you prefer for fishing jerk baits. Feel free to shoot me a PM if I can help narrow the search and get you something on the way...

Thanks for the recommendations. Will the GLX 852 JWR work, or is the extra fast action too much?

I have NRX 852c and an old GLX 843 - neither are ideal but would get the job done. I'd like to find a nice deal on an old 842 or one of the JBR rods. I just don't throw them often enough to dedicate a rod to them I think. I also have a Doybns 685CB that's a great target squarebill rod, I suppose it could work as well especially on the larger/deeper models.

Old school mossyback 802c I got only 1 left. Other that is a replacement is the IMX Pro 802c jwr.
Both have a good light tip and work great IMHO.

I'm a shorter guy at 5-8. MBR782 is by far my favorite now for 110s.
If you're more comfortable with a longer rod, bronzefly has it nailed.

FYI - The 802 TWR and the 812 JBR are the same medium power, fast action rods with identical lure ratings. The 802 TWR is 6'8" long and the 812 JBR is 6'9", otherwise they are the same.

These rods work well for jerkbaits, small topwaters (popr) and small 1.0 or 1.5 size squarebills.

Love my NRX 842. Don’t use it for jerkbaits though

Conquest 842s is the best jerkbait rod I have used followed by the GLX 842c
