I already received the FX cooler lid. I'll get it installed tonight.

Install complete. No issues. Very easy job. Couldn't be happier with the result. I hadn't seen the FX lid and back up close before ordering and I thought they had hard surfaces. I was happy to see that the lid bottom and back are made of a softer material in case a third person rides in the boat. The lid is heavy and the design is night and day better than the original lid that comes in the ZX250. The hinge for the cooler lid is at the back of the lid which is opposite the original lid that came on the ZX which has the hinge towards the front of the lid.

When taking the bottom seat frame off there are a total of ten screws that need to be removed, 7 in the bottom frame and 3 in the plastic holder that the bottom seat slides into. There were 3/8" nylon nuts on the underside of the frame on 5 of the 7 screws. There are two screws that hold the back of the seat which are at the bottom of the back. I had to drill 6 new holes to install the cooler lid frame. Had to drill 4 new holes to install the back of the seat and then drilled 2 holes to install the cup holder.

My dealer charged me $300 plus shipping for everything. Not such a big deal when you consider these boats are $55K and up. No more worrying about breaking the lid. I would highly recommend replacing the original lid with this one.

Picture 1 is without the cup holder
Picture 5 is of the old cooler lid assembly for screw hole reference.

I can post the part #'s for the new FX cooler parts if anyone wants them.

I also ordered the FX top frame for the reccessed well. I was warned that it may not be a perfect fit. I hoping its nothing significant. I'll post pic of that after I get it installed over the weekend.

The part numbers above came from Skeeter. To get the parts you'll have to order through your dealer.

It looks off center with your drain in the floor?? Or is that just from the angle of the pic?? Looks better than the zx cooler tho.

The dealers near me say Skeeter won’t sell it unless you own a 17 or newer FX...

Can somone PM me the number for a dealer that will order it?

    Thanks!

It is $300 plus shipping. Skeeter definitely doesn't give stuff away, that's for sure!

I can only imagine your frustration. I've ordered FX parts for my ZX from two dealers with no issue. When I've talked with customer service at the Skeeter factory about part #'s for the FX upgrades, they have been very accommodating with providing part numbers and that is after I've been very clear that I own a ZX series. It sounds like there are a few dealers out there that don't have a clue what customer service is. Both of the dealers I've ordered parts from are the largest Skeeter dealers.
