Usually a week before my first trip. Sometimes the night before.

Shoot, I use Fluoro for 2 years plus, braid for 3-4+. Only time I respool is when they get low.

[Hollada]

I flip the braid end for end at 2 years and respool at 4 years. Always use braid plus fluoro leader. And enough backing that I only need 100 yds of braid. I respool the couple reels I have that are straight fluoro whenever they get low.
