I just now pulled the trigger on a Falcon with the G2. Ive heard nothing but good things about both motors honestly. I like the look and such on the G2 ....I also dig the idea of being able to switch between hotfoot and hand throttle at any time which will help on long idle areas. I believe both perform about the same speed wise. Was told I would be pleased on the little amount that the G2 burns on oil as well. Best of luck in your choice. You going brand new?

Get the G2 dude. Thing rips and sips gas. Suzuki is coming on but that G2 is quite an impressive motor.

Suzuki 250ss I had one on my 205 and loved it. I had a g2 and had nothing but problems would not hang another if it was given to me. Just my experience.

I’m running my 2nd G2 and they are great! Acceleration and torque is awesome! Plus, when you buy during promo times and get 10 years of warranty, you can’t go wrong! Zuki make a good product. But, they are hard to prop. Their acceleration and top end won’t match a G2.

If you go with a Suzuki I can help you prop it for sure. Hole shot was great, top end a touch slower but not bad.

I have a 205 with a g2, the boat is extremely quick! But I’ll be the first to say, it’ll be the last evinrude I own unless someone’s paying me to run one. I’ve had it since July and it’s needed more warranty work in 7 months then any of my merc/Yamahas have needed in the past 15 years combined.

Gonna give the new merc 4 stroke a little time to settle out and build a new 205 with one on it.

Sorry you’ve had that experience. I had one warranty claim on my first one but was fixed and back on the water in one day which I was pleased with! Nothing besides that. I’ve been very pleased with both mine and will have another on my next one.

Does your dealer support both? I'd go with the closest. For speed and warranty, the G2, for reliability look at how many Suzuki's are used in saltwater applications.

G2. 10 year warranty and a beast of an engine. I love the suzukis as well but they are heavier and a bit harder to prop. You really can't go wrong with either engine.

Well I had a horrible g2 experience there will always be 1 or 2 that have problems. His boat was rigged wrong and I never had a lick of problem with my Suzuki but you could not give me a g2.
