Not great, basically 100% basshead. Been trying to chase them though the ice with little sucess, have a new lead to try this Thur/Fri. Might check out Monticello Sat/Sun if its 30’s.

I am the real Scubby McScruberson!
Well my only savior is nelson lake near Center ND. I had gotten out in December before a hockey game and got a 6.90# but hockey is keeping me busy till I see a couple looney friends on Facebook pounding on it twice a week with their boats. Just glad this week I don't have to see them haha
ps it is very weird parking a bass boat at a hockey rink parking lot in December with snow all around and a semi pro game going down next door.

I will be surf fishing in April.
Can't wait to hook up a boat and drive 20 hours south!
Soon!!
PS...
F winter!
Gonna be in the 70s all next week here.
A few pics from last March!
Enjoy.
While I agree with you that MN bass fishing cannot be beat, the thing that heading south has going for it at least during our frozen months, is that one can actually bass fish, from a boat, whether or not the fishery is better than home and that is huge (for me anyway).
Man, those are some fine Reds.
We actually did catch quite a few bass as well. Many areas, we would catch reds, trout, and bass. We really fished in a narrow minded fashion. Mostly threw topwater and swimbaits. I'd throw a chatterbait or swimjigs every now and then...so in many instances, we were not using the most effective tactic. However...having a 10lb red charge wide open 30ft in 2 feet of water to smash your lure...is pretty exhilarating!
Make sure if you are with Steve again to fiddle around with some stuff in that boat on the way back when he isn’t looking, we need a down year from him in the club for once! Haha. He said that was a blast last year.
Good luck! He doesn't keep anything in there! 2 rods, a jig, 2 jigworm heads and 2 packs of chigger craws and a pack of senkos is about all you'll ever see in that boat. Maybe an extra spool of line.
