    Procraft Runs

Came home with the 97 model super pro 200 procraft a couple weeks ago. Weather has been pretty ruff but I did get a chance to get out and run some numbers. Running with about 20 gallons of fuel. My best run was 77.2 and had several runs of 76+. 1997 model stock 200 efi. I didn't do any playing with raising the motor or anything, just ran it like I bought it. Selling the 200 and putting a 225pm on it in a few weeks. Got a couple props coming for the 225 so I expect to get some good numbers. Will keep y'all informed.

WOW ! - best speed i could muster out of my 97 200DC was about about 66/67mph and that was stripped down..
running a Mercury 200efi and a 24 pitch fury prop.

Those are some fantastic numbers ....

sclark you have a completely different boat. The series im running is the fast model that astro/procraft only made from 1994-1998 and they only made a few. This boat is 300+ pounds lighter than yours and has a faster pad/hull. Look at my other post "the x2000 is done" and see the difference.

Was that the model Gary Klein and a few others used in the fishing/racing events in the late 90's?

Yes it is. Many of the pros were offered them but opted not to get them because they couldn't drive them. When I had my 19'er there was only 1 guy that could get in it and drive it wide open, and he owned a 17' bullet. Heck when I first got it I couldn't drive it, thought something was wrong with the boat. Just had to learn to drive it.

Those are great numbers gcross. The best I ever got with mine was 74 and change with the 200efi on it.

Best i've ever seen with this set up is i think 78. We ran one that had a 200efi on it back in 1997 or 98 (can't remember if it was mine or my buds) and we ran seems like a dozen props on it trying to get big numbers. I think the best number was with a 29srx or a worked 28 chopper. Anyways I do remember the holeshot being pretty bad.

Keep us posted , I still haven tweaked anything or swapped out any props. Sitting at 75 still.. can’t wait to hear your numbers out of the promax. Which trophy did you run on your last boats. The new or old version? Is there a significant performance difference and does one stay together better than the other? Thanks in advance. Can’t wait to see some pics as well.

Even the 200 with a 150 on it ran like a raped ape. Can't imagine a 225. Super fast hulls. Think Klein rain a 185.

Decided to run to a local lake for some early morning runs with different props. 25 trophy, 27 tempest, and 27 BC chopper. Made several runs with each. Best run was mid 76. Raised and lowered the motor but no better speeds. Didn't wanna raise too much and run out of water pressure. The chopper wants to run but has no lift. Trophy handled better but tempest was a tad faster. Surely looking foward to putting the 225pm with the sporty on it.

I need to take my boat to you and leave it for a week or two and see if you can do something different. I KNOW that my hull isn't the fast one but just thing I should be able to get better than 59-61.

You definitely should be doing better than that.
