    36 v trolling motor charging question ?

I just bought a 21xl magnum and got home to charge it and noticed one the wires running from batter to circuit breaker was unhooked from the battery. So I texted him and he said they un hook it something about so it don’t reverse the polarity? Is this something I need to do every time I hook up the battery charger ?

If hooked up correctly and it has an onboard charger, should not need to unhook anything.
Each battery gets it’s own set of charger leads to + and - The starting battery should not be connected to trolling batteries at all.
The trolling batteries should have batt 1 + to breaker and breaker to trolling mtr pos, batt 1 - to batt2 +, batt 2 - to batt 3 +, batt3 - to trolling motor neg.
